“2019 was a huge year for animals, from Macy’s fur-free pledge to California’s Circus Cruelty Prevention Act —and 2020 is poised to be even bigger,” says PETA President Ingrid Newkirk. “Every year brings us closer to a cruelty-free planet, as we gain more understanding of who animals are and how we can respect them. PETA is looking forward to celebrating the most animal-friendly decade yet.”

PETA—whose motto reads, “Animals are not ours to experiment on, eat, wear, use for entertainment, or abuse in any other way”—opposes speciesism, and more information about our work to help animals is available at PETA.org.
